Wenn „The Record“ mit einem Metascore von 90/100 auf Rang 3 bei Metacritic liegt, welches Album hält dann nach dem ersten Quartal die Spitzenposition inne?
„Desire, I Want To Turn Into You“ liegt zurzeit mit 94/100 Punkten auf Platz 1 und dürfte sehr gute Chancen haben, auch am Ende des Jahres zu den Top 5 zu gehören. Denn 94 Punkte wurden seit 2015 erst siebenmal überboten, u.a. jeweils gleich zweimal von Kendrick Lamar und Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds.
Caroline Polachek veröffentlichte bis zur Trennung der Indiepop-Band drei Alben mit Chairlift und startete anschließend eine Solo-Karriere unter ihrem eigenen Namen. Zwei Alben unter den Namen Ramona Lisa und CEP blieben größtenteils unbeachtet. Dem 2019 erschienen Album „Pang“ folgte in diesem Jahr „Desire, I Want To Turn Into You“, ohne dass sich der große kommerzielle Durchbruch eingestellt hätte, obwohl Caroline Polachek von Dua Lipa mit auf Tournee genommen wurde, auf Singles von Charli XCX und Flume zu hören war und es auf dem hoch gelobten Album Features von Grimes und Dido gibt.
