Final Days Society - You Can

Na endlich. Da nun auch Oliver begeistert ist, können wir uns erneut Final Days Society zuwenden. 2015 veröffentlichten Suwat Khanh (Gesang, Bass), Pierre Olsson Kruse (Gitarre), Andreas Jeansson (Gitarre, Keyboards), Marcus Knutsson (Gitarre) und Victor Galeano (Schlagzeug) ihr drittes Album „Icebreaker“, für das Oliver erst vor wenigen Tagen sein 8-Punkte-Urteil einreichte. Da vorher „Firestarter“ (2020) nicht vor Gericht gestellt werden konnte, sind wir nun bereits bei „You Can“, dem fünften Studioalbum der Schweden, die nun ohne Knutsson als Quartett musizieren, angelangt.

Anders als beim Vorgänger mit seinen sechs Liedern, werden uns diesmal sogar neun Songs gereicht, was nicht heißt, dass sich Final Days Society kurz fassen würden: das finale „Jag Älskar Dig“ läuft über 11 Minuten, das Album insgesamt klar über eine Stunde. Neben den etwas härteren Momenten (beispielsweise zu Beginn von „You Are“) erleidet der Sänger gleich doppelt einen Screamo-Anfall („Feel Something“ und „Signals“). Ansonsten gibt es bombastischen Prog-Rock („Not Even Death“) für Freunde von Sigur Rós bis Alcest. Und das ist Oliver ja. 

Was es leider nicht gibt, sind Videos zum hier Einfügen oder eine Vinyl-Veröffentlichung. Aber für 8 € gibt es „You Can“ digital über Bandcamp und die früheren Album kosten zurzeit nur 3 €.

The album title »You Can« symbolizes the band’s belief in crossing boundaries, both musically and personally. While rooted in their own experiences, the band hopes listeners will use the music to form stories of their own.

The sound is honest, dynamic and deeply emotional – true to Final Days Society’s signature blend of atmosphere, melody, vocals and cinematic depth, with a distinct scandinavian touch.
