10 Fakten zum neuen Album von Coldplay:

1. Das achte Studioalbum von Coldplay ist das erste Doppelalbum der Band. Die erste Hälfte trägt den Titel „Sunrise“, die zweite heißt „Sunset“ und insgesamt ist es das - wie es sich für ein Doppelalbum gehört - bisher experimentellste Album der Band: „a cinematic sonic scape that pitches everything from driven folk, gospel, wild jazz sax solos, and indie sincerity“ (The Line Of Best Fit).

2. „Everyday Life“ bietet 16 Titel in 52:51 Minuten. Obwohl es das Coldplay Album mit den meisten Liedern ist, laufen „A Rush of Blood to the Head“ (54:08)  und „X&Y“ (62:30 plus Hidden Track) länger.

3. Nur die japanische Version von „Everday Life“ bietet zusätzlich den Song „Flags“ (3:36) als Bonus Track an. 

4. Einen so großen zeitlichen Abstand zwischen zwei Albumveröffentlichungen hatten Coldplay bisher noch nicht: Zwischen „ A Head Full Of Dreams“ und „Everyday Life“ liegen knapp 4 Jahre (3 Jahre, 11 Monate und 18 Tage, um genau zu sein).

5. Das Plattencover von „Everyday Life“ basiert auf einem um 1919 aufgenommenen Foto des Urgroßvaters von Coldplay-Mitglied Jonny Buckland. Im Oktober tauchten in São Paulo, Berlin, Hong Kong und Sydney Poster des Covers auf und teaserten die Veröffentlichung der Platte am 22. November 2019. 

6. „Orphans“ und „Arabesque“ wurden am 24. Oktober als Vorab-Singles veröffentlicht. Am 3. November folgte der Titelsong als dritte Single aus „Everyday Life“. Nur „Orphans“ bekam ein Video spendiert und kam zu relevanten Chart-Ehren, zum Beispiel Platz 27 im Vereinigten Königreich und Platz 94 in Deutschland.

7. „Everyday Life“ ist als CD, Kassette und Doppel-LP (180g) erhältlich. Nur im offiziellen Store des Band ist die Platte als „silver double vinyl“ käuflich zu erwerben. 

8. Der Titel des sechsten Songs lautet „بنی آدم“ oder in lateinischen Buchstaben „Bani Adam“. Der Song bezieht sich (und zitiert) das gleichnamige Gedicht des persischen Poeten Saadi Shirazi.

9. Das Album wurde von The Dream Team produziert, damit sind wohl Daniel Green, Max Martin, Bill Rahko und Rik Simpson gemeint. Als Gäste sind u.a. Stromae, Femi Kuti, Tiwa Savage und Jacob Collier auf dem Album zu hören.

10. Bisher sind nur zwei Konzerte von Coldplay angekündigt: Am 22. November, dem Tag der Veröffentlichung, präsentieren Coldplay live die zwei Teile des Albums in Jordanien. Der Auftritt wird als Livestream bei YouTube zu sehen sein. Zudem werden Coldplay am 25. November im Natural History Museum in London live auftreten.
