Embrace füllen in Großbritannien die großen Hallen und Album um Album landet in den Top Ten. „How To Be A Person Like Other People“ bietet 10 Songs, die in den Magnetic North Studios in Halifax aufgenommen und von Gitarrist Richard McNamara produziert wurde. Sucht man das Ungewöhnliche auf diesem Album, dann wird man vor allem bei den Texten fündig. Denn Sänger Danny McNamara gewährt eben so offene wie intime Einblicke, indem er seinen Weg zu emotionaler Reife beschreibt, nachdem er seine Frau kennengelernt und eine Familie gegründet hat.
Mit „Death Is Not The End“ und „We Are It“ startet das Album unerwartet rockig, „Run Away With Me“ wird im weiteren Verlauf noch eine Schippe drauf legen. Auch beim Bombast.
