Die dänische Band Yellowish beschreibt sich auf ihrer MySpace-Seite selbst so:
Yellowish has a unique sound, catchy choruses and compositions that wants more than just please the mainstream. Taking off from the alternative indie-rock scene the band keeps seeking towards new expressions, and is not tied to any distinct genre or tradition. The band features two lead vocals (male/female) in beautiful unity and interplay, supported by a strong and tight rhythm group. Yellowish has recently been described as one of Denmarks leading indiepop bands and is without doubt worth the praises. The band made their debut back in 2004 with the highly acclaimed album Solid Ground. Subsequently the band appeared live at Danish national radio P3 where the single Lisa Could Die For Elvis went straight to number 1 on the chart of Det Elektriske Barometer and into rotation on P3 and DR Electric. Now 2 years after, the band is back with a new album entitled "So Bright". Produced by Ziggy (Illdisposed, Mercenary, Nephew etc.) and mixed by the new, leading, Danish producer Carsten Heller (Newphew, Spleen United etc.). The style is still a mix of tight indierock (like The Killers, Interpol and Stars) and swirling dramatic soundscapes (like danish band Mew, Doves and early shoegazer bands like Slowdive). "So Bright" fully shows the talent Yellowish is capable of.
Hier noch eine kleine Auflistung von weiteren Bands, die in den Weiten des Internets als Referenz herhalten mussten:
Weeping Willows
Kent
Melody Club
The Dears
Cardigans
Morrissey
Ich möchte da gerne noch The Editors hinzufügen.
Zu hören gibt's diese bunte Mischung natürlich auf MySpace als auch auf ihrer Homepage.
